There is a rumor floating around that the Poughkeepsie skate park will not open and will be dismantled..

I personally spoke to a City Parks worker who was sizing up the ramps to be dis-assembled..
He had this to say..
(Not direct quote mind you)
'Enjoy it while it lasts because we will be tearing it down..'
'I spoke to the city about it and they can't afford the insurance..'

Is this man 100% accurate?
Are they in fact going to tear it down?
I sure hope not..
For the skate of the PK skate scene and all of the kids that will be forced to the streets this summer..

Maybe no one realizes the joy that this place brings people...



Or that it is one of 2 parks within an hour radius..

Does everything have to be about the Almighty Dollar??
I'm sure that we can get enough support from the community to keep this park..
